Leach Colour wins The Queen’s Award for Enterprise: Innovation 2008

Leach Colour, the Huddersfield-based large format graphics producer, is celebrating winning The Queen’s Award for Enterprise 2008. The prestigious award was given in the Innovation category for the company’s magnetic graphic display system - STIK. Since its introduction STIK has been used extensively in some of the most well known retail stores, car showrooms, commercial interiors and heritage sites both in the UK and abroad.
As with all the best ideas, STIK is based on a simple principle, in this case using magnetic attraction to hold graphic display panels in place.
The system comprises of two elements, a permanent magnetic base and a flexible, high quality graphic panel with a special ferrous coating. Once the magnetic base has been installed, the graphic panels can be put in place easily by the customer’s own staff, without the need for any specialist training or equipment - no tools, nails, screws or adhesives. Updating graphics is then simply a matter of peeling off the old graphic panels and replacing them with new.
Compared to other graphic display systems, STIK is less expensive to produce and is quicker and safer to install. STIK also boasts significant environmental credentials. Because it enables replacement panels to be changed by on-site staff, thousands of miles of road travel that would otherwise have to be made by specialist installers are saved every year.
